She said she loved him.
He believed.
She wanted him to focus on becoming a better man. No mindless partying or excessive drinking. He agreed.
Everything she asked, he did.
Everything went well. The relationship blossomed.
Couple of the Year. Model Couple. They called them.
Yet, he was sad.
It was not what he wanted.
The marriage had held with a big question mark on her.
But he was a man in love.
He had witnessed it once. He thought it was an honest mistake.
It happened again. He believed her pleas of innocence.
Then the third time was at the hotel reception on their wedding night.
He was shocked.
A mobile phone was what she had picked off another man’s pocket as he signed the guest forms.
None of the men knew. But an eagle-eyed security man saw her perform the magic.
The security man accosted her.
Blinded by love, He tried to defend the honour of his newly wedded wife.
But the recovery of the phone from where she hid it inside her corset broke his defence.
He broke down in tears. She did too. A couple swimming in tears.
“I am so sorry babe,” she cried.
He was sorry too. For himself. For ignoring the signs.
“I am sorry too,” he cried and took her in his arms. He had little choice. The marriage was just 6 hours old.
He knew he won’t be in for much longer.
